Are there any age, ability, or health requirements for volunteering?
Some roles have age or ability requirements for safety reasons, but we do our best to make volunteering accessible to everyone – including people with disabilities or health conditions. If you’re unsure or want to talk about your situation, just get in touch – we’re happy to help.
Will volunteering affect my benefits or paid work?
Volunteering usually doesn’t affect your benefits or job, but it’s a good idea to check with your benefits adviser or employer if you’re unsure.
Are expenses paid?
Yes. Volunteers will be reimbursed expenses related to their voluntary activities. The most common expense is travel. Equipment, uniforms, and training are provided for free.
Can I shadow someone before committing?
Unfortunately, you can't shadow someone before committing. However, we can arrange for you to speak with a current volunteer. If you have any queries, please contact us.
